Do you have a passion for specialty coffee and an interest in craft beer and natural wine?
We're sad to soon be farewelling our Peckham/East Dulwich store manager Nathan, after five and a half great years with us. This means we're looking for a superstar Store Manager to join our friendly team.
In this role, you'll be the face of our East Dulwich Road store:
- Coffee Maestro: With a background in specialty coffee, you'll oversee our coffee hatch, making sure we serve up excellent coffee every time on our 2 Group La Marzocco Linea Classic. Training staff, maintaining equipment and overseeing quality control are a key part of the role
- Team Leader: Motivate and support your team to deliver an exceptional customer experience. You'll work with the senior team to do staff reviews and be responsible for rotas and emergency cover
- Product Guru: You'll become an expert in our craft beer, wine and hot sauce selection and be confident to share your knowledge with customers and colleagues
- Store and Stock Champion: You’ll keep the store sparkling clean and looking great, managing stock and inventory levels to minimise wastage and ensure our customers can always access the products they want. You’ll also ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and food safety standards.
- Process Improver: You'll have the chance to work with the team to manage and streamline processes and boost efficiency.
- Events Manager: You’ll have the opportunity to take part in organising customer events, in-store tastings and other added value opportunities
This is a full-time role, working alongside a small team of passionate and enthusiastic staff. This role will suit someone with a barista background in specialty coffee and an interest in the products we sell (experience working in beer and wine is not needed as full training will be given). You'll need to work well as part of (and leading) a team, as well as working sole charge, so reliability is key. This is very much a front-of-house role, so you should feel comfortable talking to customers about the range of products we sell. With a lot of stock movements and customer orders on a daily basis, attention to detail is important. A friendly personality and great sense of humour is a given!
As we are a small team, many of our operational decisions are made at head officE level, which frees up our managers to focus on the customer experience and day-to-day team and store management. Weekend work and some early starts are essential.
This role has a starting salary of £30,000. We are a London Living Wage employer, offer a generous staff discount and loads of opportunities to gain more knowledge in craft beer and wine through formal and informal tastings, festivals and other activities. You'll be joining a small, experienced, friendly team and a lot of fun is guaranteed.
If you fit the above criteria, we'd love to hear from you. We’re looking to move fast on hiring someone - please email your CV to joinus(at)hopburnsblack.co.uk with a cover letter by Sunday 9th June. We’re hoping to have someone on board by the end of June to ensure a smooth handover with Nathan.
